AI Engineer at Surein - AI-native backend automation platform

As an AI Engineer at Surein.de, you will design and implement the core intelligence layer of our AI-native backend automation platform. This high-impact IC role involves building production-grade AI systems, including model integration, retrieval pipelines, and agentic flows. You'll own AI components that directly enhance user experience, automation accuracy, and platform intelligence, collaborating with backend engineers to ship end-to-end features.

• Design and implement AI-powered backend components for classification, extraction, enrichment, and decision-making.
• Build retrieval and context pipelines, including embeddings, vector stores, indexing, and model-aware context assembly.
• Develop evaluation, monitoring, and observability workflows using tools like Langfuse for continuous improvement.

• Strong experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval pipelines, and prompt engineering.
• Ability to translate ambiguous real-world content into structured extraction, classification, or decision flows.
• Familiarity with building production-grade AI services (Python or TypeScript) and modern AI tooling (Langfuse, Weaviate, Pinecone, etc.).
