Chief Medical Officer at tortus - Leading Clinical AI for the NHS

As Chief Medical Officer, you will lead clinical safety, R&D, and regulatory affairs, sitting on the leadership team to transition tortus.ai from an AI scribe to a Class III autonomous decision-support system. You will translate vision into scalable, regulatory-feasible propositions, holding ultimate accountability for clinical efficacy and evidence strategy across global markets.

• Design and execute the regulatory roadmap and Quality Management System to achieve Class IIa/b and Class III medical device certifications.
• Lead Clinical Evaluation Plans (CEP) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies to demonstrate measurable ROI and clinical safety to stakeholders.
• Act as the primary clinical authority and external voice, building a community of Key Opinion Leaders and clinical advisors to drive advocacy.

• Medical Doctor (MBBS/MD) with frontline clinical experience and a deep understanding of the digital health and clinical AI landscape.
• Proven track record in SaMD regulation, specifically acting as a Clinical Safety Officer and developing technical files for Class IIa+ products.
• Experienced in aligning product strategy with national health system priorities, such as the NHS workforce plan and digital transformation agendas.

• Lead the clinical evolution of a product already powering 60% of UK primary care and deployed across dozens of NHS hospitals.
• Join the MHRA AI Airlock programme to actively shape the future regulatory playbook for generative AI in healthcare globally.
• Direct the transition from Class I to Class III medical device status, building a formidable competitive moat through regulatory excellence.
