Data Engineer at Openr — £3M raised hospitality tech platform

As the first dedicated Data Engineer, you will build the "single source of truth" for the hospitality industry. You'll own the design and maintenance of scalable ETL pipelines that centralize product and pricing data for 1,500+ venues, enabling seamless integrations with platforms like Deliveroo and major EPOS systems to power real-time commerce.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines to centralize data from dozens of third-party hospitality platforms and integrations.
• Optimize PostgreSQL performance and system reliability to ensure data integrity across mission-critical, real-time customer touchpoints.
• Translate complex architectural decisions and data concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and the broader product team.

• Mid-to-senior level engineer (4-5 years) with deep expertise in TypeScript, SQL, and building robust data pipelines.
• Proven track record of managing AWS-native infrastructure and cloud-based integrations within a SaaS or high-growth startup environment.
• Strong system design skills with the ability to balance technical debt against the delivery of new features in an event-driven architecture.
