Design Engineer at SF-based startup building a personal cluster operating system

You will define the visual and interaction layer of ClusterdOS, a revolutionary operating system making Kubernetes accessible to everyone. As one of the first five employees, you'll bridge design and engineering to create novel visualization systems and interaction patterns that transform complex distributed infrastructure into an intuitive, delightful user experience.

• Design and build the visual language of ClusterdOS, including micro-interactions, animations, and natural language interfaces.
• Create novel visualization systems for distributed state that make complex infrastructure legible and accessible to semi-technical users.
• Establish the core design system, component library, and interaction patterns while prototyping rapidly in production-grade React and TypeScript.

• 3-5+ years of experience with a design-first mindset and strong engineering chops in React, TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating high-fidelity UI/UX work with a focus on motion design and system-level thinking (Linear or Vercel-level polish).
• Self-directed creator who can translate technical complexity into elegant interfaces and has a deep curiosity for distributed systems and Kubernetes.
