Engineering Technician at Collison-backed synthetic fuel startup

You will join a high-velocity team building the infrastructure to replace fossil fuels. As a hands-on technician, you will own the fabrication and testing of complex thermal, fluid, and electrical systems. By accelerating the iteration of test rigs and full-scale assemblies, you will directly enable the company to scale 1000x.

• Design, build, and execute tests for fluid, thermal, and electrical systems using plumbing, wiring, and advanced fabrication techniques like welding and machining.
• Own the production of test rigs and full-scale assemblies directly from engineering drawings, CAD models, or high-level sketches with total autonomy.
• Manage and maintain a world-class workshop containing laser cutters, water-jet cutters, lathes, and mills, ensuring all tooling and spares are ready for rapid prototyping.

• Possesses 4-5+ years of professional experience in a demanding workshop, factory, or laboratory environment with a diverse portfolio of hands-on project builds.
• Demonstrates mastery across multiple physical trades including welding, fabrication, and mechanics, with a deep understanding of tolerances and engineering drawings.
• Exhibits high agency and a "tinkerer" mindset, evidenced by personal projects or a history of proposing technical solutions rather than just following instructions.
