Head of Software Development at Early-stage AI consumer hardware startup

You will lead the end-to-end software and AI strategy for a pioneering conversational product, moving from prototype to global manufacturing. This hands-on leadership role involves architecting cloud infrastructure, managing external agency partners, and overseeing the integration of sophisticated voice-to-voice models and mobile applications to create safe, interactive consumer experiences.

• Define the technical roadmap across cloud platforms, mobile interfaces, and device-level firmware communication to ensure a cohesive ecosystem.
• Architect and optimize RAG-based AI pipelines and voice processing systems to deliver high-quality, reliable, and safe user interactions.
• Manage internal engineering talent and external development agencies to ensure high code quality and timely delivery of the product ecosystem.

• Over 7 years of software experience with a strong background in Python or TypeScript and cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP).
• Proven expertise building systems with Large Language Models, including experience with RAG, prompt engineering, and voice-based applications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams or manage agencies in an early-stage, fast-paced environment where hardware and software converge.

• Shape the technical backbone of a novel category-defining product at the intersection of AI, voice technology, and physical hardware.
• Direct influence on engineering culture and product roadmap, working closely with the founding team during a critical transition to scale.
• Tackle complex, mission-driven technical challenges involving low-latency conversational AI, ethical data processing, and seamless hardware-to-cloud synchronization.
