You will own the scientific and ML core of Discovery Synth, architecting novel retrieval, reasoning, and knowledge representation systems for high-stakes biomedical research. This is a true co-founder role where you will design multi-source evidence synthesis frameworks that outperform manual processes, moving beyond simple API wrappers to build foundational infrastructure for scientific discovery.

• Architect production-grade retrieval-augmented generation and reasoning systems that handle heterogeneous data types across clinical and mechanistic domains.
• Design and implement sophisticated knowledge representation systems and ontology mapping to treat scientific evidence as a first-class object.
• Lead the technical strategy and evidence extraction pipelines, ensuring high accuracy against gold-standard published evidence for major pharmaceutical use cases.

• Proven track record of rigorous systems-level ML research with publications at top-tier venues like NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, or EMNLP.
• Experience at a frontier AI lab such as DeepMind, OpenAI, or Anthropic, or a leading academic research group at institutions like Cambridge, Stanford, or UCL.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to bridge the gap between theoretical research and building scalable, production-ready scientific discovery tools.
