Senior Backend Engineer at $75M Series C London betting platform

Join a high-growth London startup building a next-generation betting and casino platform. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and scale the real-time systems powering our Casino UX. You'll work in an agile, 150-person team that has grown 10x in usage recently, deploying daily using Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs and backend services that power the mobile and web casino gaming experience.
• Integrate complex third-party vendor products and manage real-time event processing for high-concurrency workloads during peak traffic.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers while contributing to high-level architecture and infrastructure decisions using AWS and Terraform.

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with a strong proficiency in Python or another major backend language.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining consumer-facing products and scalable RESTful APIs within cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Solid computer science fundamentals with the ability to own systems end-to-end, from architectural design to deployment and monitoring.
