Senior Power System Engineer at £10M Seed synthetic fuel startup

You will lead the DC electrical architecture for modular plants turning sunlight and air into carbon-neutral fuel. Owning >1MW scale solar design, you will eliminate entropy in power distribution and integrate high-power arrays directly with electrolysers. This is a hands-on design-and-build role critical to decarbonizing heavy industries like steel and cement.

• Design and optimize >1MW scale solar arrays and DC power distribution systems integrated with thermal reactors and electrolysers.
• Lead the engineering of combiner boxes, cable layouts, and containment systems while modeling configurations for maximum cost efficiency.
• Certify solar arrays and panels to BS & IEC standards, managing the entire lifecycle from circuit diagramming in SolidWorks to physical commissioning.

• Has 5+ years of experience in high-power DC system design, specifically working with MW-scale solar arrays or industrial power distribution.
• Proficient in circuit diagramming (ideally SolidWorks Electrical) and expert in certifying hardware to rigorous BS/IEC safety standards.
• Possesses a "builder" mentality—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in personally wiring and testing their own designs.
