Piris Labs is reimagining data center architecture with breakthrough optical networking technology designed specifically for AI inference workloads. Their proprietary optical interconnects deliver 8x higher rack-to-rack bandwidth at 5x lower power than existing solutions, allowing inference to run across multiple GPU nodes with dramatically reduced latency. By enabling optical CXL memory disaggregation — connecting GPUs to shared memory pools up to 10 metres apart — they solve the 'memory wall' problem that limits current inference clusters. The team combines deep photonics expertise (PhD work from MIT on NASA's terahertz laser program) with over a decade of AI infrastructure experience from Meta and X.
