Role overview

As the first Data Engineer and employee #4, you will architect the data backbone for large-scale energy consumption analysis. You’ll own the end-to-end platform, from ingestion pipelines to warehouse architecture, while building scalable APIs that empower enterprises to manage their electricity spend with the transparency and precision of financial reporting.

Energy management software1-10 employees

Condor Energy is a YC company that develops an Operating System for energy management. Enterprises like factories, data centers or supermarkets use Condor to monitor and reduce their energy costs. We connect to meters, invoices, and building/industrial systems, unify everything in one platform, and help teams spot waste, forecast spend, and execute better procurement strategies.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and maintain the entire data platform, including ingestion pipelines, warehouse architecture, and data modeling using dbt-core.
  • Develop and scale backend services and APIs in Django/Python to power the Next.js web application for large enterprise clients.
  • Ensure data quality and system reliability through robust observability tooling, including logging, metrics, and alerting on Google Cloud Platform.

Who this is a fit for

  • Proven experience building robust data pipelines and managing warehouses with a deep understanding of ETL/ELT and performance optimization.
  • Strong backend engineering skills in Python/Django and professional proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
  • An early-stage mindset characterized by high ownership, low ego, and a bias toward shipping product-focused solutions in a fast-paced setting.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Join a YC W26 founding team as employee #4, gaining significant ownership and founding-team equity in an early-stage, high-growth environment.
  • Solve critical climate and operational challenges by building the data infrastructure that makes massive enterprise energy consumption transparent and actionable.
  • Shape the technical foundation from day one, working directly with founders to scale a platform using a modern stack of Python, dbt, and GCP.
