Founding AI Engineer at Tyle

We are looking for a Founding AI Engineer to join an a16z-backed stealth startup building the visual biomarker layer for human health. Founded by former Meta and Google AI leaders, this team is developing proprietary hardware and multimodal models to detect biological signals from the skin that no one has captured before. If you have deep experience in computer vision and want to build a mission-critical health system from day zero, this role offers a rare opportunity to define the future of preventative medicine. You'll own the entire stack from raw sensor data to longitudinal health insights in a high-stakes, high-reward environment.

About this role

Role overview

Join a high-growth stealth startup founded by ex-Google and Meta leaders as their Founding AI Engineer. You will build a first-of-its-kind visual biomarker layer, developing the proprietary computer vision models and hardware infrastructure necessary to extract critical physiological signals from the body's surface for early disease detection and health tracking.

About the company

Tyle

Tyle

Applied AI Research Lab - Healthtech

Tyle is building the visual biomarker layer for human health.

Computer vision and multimodal AI now make it possible to extract meaningful biological signals from visual data at scale. Skin and other observable traits contain far more information about systemic health than is currently captured or utilized. We are building the models and infrastructure to capture, interpret, and continuously learn from those signals.

Founded by engineers and product leaders from Meta and Google.

What you'll do

What you will do

  • Architect and scale the end-to-end computer vision system, from signal capture and data curation to model training and deployment.
  • Translate emerging computer vision research and papers into production-grade improvements that enhance signal quality and model performance.
  • Build the core infrastructure for reliable real-world inference and monitoring while shaping the company's long-term technical strategy and standards.

Who you are

Who this is a fit for

  • Has deep experience training and deploying computer vision models in real-world production environments rather than just research notebooks.
  • Demonstrates 5+ years of engineering experience with a high bar for code correctness, system reliability, and architectural decision-making under ambiguity.
  • Proactively leverages modern AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development and possesses the hands-on ability to build entire systems from scratch.

Why this role

Why this role is remarkable

  • Work alongside founders who led Applied AI and Product at Google and Meta to build a new category of longitudinal health intelligence.
  • Backed by the a16z Explorer Fund and prominent physician-angels, this role offers day-zero ownership of a mission-critical tech stack.
  • Solve novel technical challenges at the intersection of proprietary imaging hardware and multimodal AI where every model improvement directly impacts human longevity.
