Role overview
High-value industry data and publications are essential for businesses, yet remain largely inaccessible to the AI tools companies use today. Cepter fixes that.
We give data providers and publishers an out-of-the-box platform to make their proprietary data compliantly usable by AI tools by structuring their content and providing control over access, pricing and billing. For end users, cepter plugs these trusted data sources directly into AI workflows, delivering source-grounded insights instead of generic answers based on broad web searches.
We’re starting with the energy sector - a highly regulated industry that depends on reliable, deterministic insights, with data fragmented across many specialized data providers.
cepter is founded by Kaspar (Oxford / BCG / Chief of Staff at Creandum-backed terralayr) and Duxi (ETH / IBM Machine Learning Engineer).
What you will do
- Design and implement production-scale agent architectures, focusing on context engineering, routing, retrieval, and reliability for legal due diligence workflows.
- Build the developer platform, including repository architecture, automated testing environments, and observability tools to ensure high-velocity, safe deployments.
- Establish AI-native engineering practices by creating the rules and guardrails that allow coding agents to work effectively alongside the human team.
Who this is a fit for
- At least 4+ years of professional engineering experience with a track record of designing, shipping, and operating complex production software.
- Hands-on expertise with agent-based systems, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool use, structured outputs, and evaluation frameworks.
- Strong fundamentals in backend and infrastructure, with experience using technologies like Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Temporal in a cloud-native environment.
Why this role is remarkable
- Work at the intersection of AI and renewable energy, building the technical foundation for a platform with active clients and revenue.
- High-level ownership of the entire engineering stack, from agent orchestration and context engineering to core CI/CD pipelines.
- Backed by elite investors including Visionaries Club and leaders from Google DeepMind, shaping technical DNA from day one.
