Every major technological shift has fundamentally transformed how humans experience stories. The printing press and books brought stories to the masses. The camera and cinema made stories visual spectacles. The internet and streaming put infinite stories in our pockets.
AI will do the same. Instead of passively watching stories unfold, people will be able to live inside them — making decisions as the protagonist while AI generates the next scene in real time, responding to every choice.
But AI storytelling today is stuck in "slop territory". We're building the best AI director for unscripted entertainment in 2D today but soon for real-time video.
This powers a UGC platform where millions of creators can craft immersive experiences with nothing more than a story worth telling, and countless players can step inside these worlds and live them.
The goal is to build the most immersive kind of entertainment ever, and democratize creation beyond the usual suspects (Hollywood and AAA gaming studios).
We are well-funded (backed by tier 1 SF and European funds) with strong industry connections.
What you will do
- Design and scale real-time platform architecture to deliver AI-generated visuals, voice, and text with low-latency responsiveness.
- Orchestrate complex AI pipelines and manage persistent state across long-form player sessions for a coherent narrative experience.
- Build robust creator tooling and engineering foundations, from CI/CD pipelines to observability and testing for non-deterministic systems.
Who this is a fit for
- Proven track record of shipping and maintaining production-grade systems with deep knowledge of systems thinking and scalability tradeoffs.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python and modern web stacks, with the autonomy to lead projects from conception to deployment.
- Practical experience or strong interest in LLM-based systems, agentic workflows, or real-time media delivery within a fast-paced startup environment.
