Role overview
Asymmetric Security is the first AI-native Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) company. It combines frontier AI models with senior cybersecurity experts to automate investigations, collecting artifacts across email, identity, and cloud applications, reconstructing attack timelines, generating recommendations, and delivering structured findings, compressing investigations from days to hours. The company responds to cyber incidents using in-house AI systems, builds realistic evaluations and benchmarks to advance AI cyberdefense capabilities, and has offices in London and San Francisco. Founded in 2025, it recently raised $4.2 million in pre-seed funding.
What you will do
- Build and operate a multi-tenant SaaS platform on GCP, using FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and React to deliver real-time security collaboration and investigation tools.
- Develop and deploy agentic AI systems and evaluation frameworks to measure and improve AI performance against real-world cyber incidents and security challenges.
- Own platform reliability and observability end-to-end, including CI/CD pipelines, SLO design, and incident response practices to maintain high production availability.
Who this is a fit for
- Strong background in Python (FastAPI/async) and modern frontend (React/TypeScript), with experience shipping and operating production-grade, data-intensive software.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS), containerization (Docker/Terraform), and managing distributed data workloads using tools like Parquet, DuckDB, or Redis.
- Proven ability to manage production-scale systems, with a deep understanding of observability, monitoring, and building for long-term reliability under the pressure of real-world incidents.
Why this role is remarkable
- Work at the cutting edge of AI and cybersecurity, building agentic systems that automate complex digital forensics and incident response tasks for frontier AI labs.
- High-impact founding role at a well-funded startup where you will shape architectural decisions and set engineering standards for a production-ready SaaS platform.
- Solve technically challenging problems involving data-intensive workloads, real-time collaboration, and the development of evaluations to measure AI performance against real cyber incidents.
