You will build the critical infrastructure powering AI agents that automate sea and air freight operations for a $200B industry. As a founding hire, you'll design reliable systems for concurrency and failure, own the entire deployment pipeline, and select the architectural foundations that shape the product’s future from the ground up.
Founding Platform Engineer at Gozauber
Join a high-caliber team of ETH and TUM alumni building the AI-powered future of global freight forwarding. Founded by the former CTO of a $2.1B digital forwarder, this startup is automating the complex operational flows of a $200B industry. As the Founding Platform Engineer, you will design the infrastructure that keeps AI agents running reliably in production. If you have 4-8+ years of experience with distributed systems, AWS, and modern orchestration tools, this is your chance to own the stack and shape a massive industry's digital foundation from day one.

Role overview
AI agents to solve industry problems that I have tried to address for the last decade, but that have so far been out of reach.
Process complexity, massive labor costs, and lack of intelligent automation have remained the industry’s most pressing challenge. With LLMs and agents, we finally have the tools to solve this.
My vision is that future supply chains will be orchestrated and run by an AI workforce - ensuring reliable, cost-efficient procurement and flow of goods in an uncertain world.
What you will do
- Build and operate the runtime infrastructure for AI agents using Vercel, MongoDB, AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS), and workflow tools like Inngest or Temporal.
- Design for reliability and failure by implementing queuing, retries, backpressure, and idempotency to ensure agent workflows stay resilient under load.
- Own the end-to-end deployment pipeline, including CI/CD, preview environments, and developer experience tooling to accelerate engineering velocity.
Who this is a fit for
- Has 4-8+ years of experience owning infrastructure end-to-end, ideally having scaled a startup from early-stage to production maturity.
- Demonstrates deep mastery of distributed systems principles, including concurrency, eventual consistency, and event-driven architectures.
- Prefers high-agency environments and possesses a strong automation mindset to eliminate toil while maintaining high observability standards using Datadog.
Why this role is remarkable
- Founding-level impact at an early-stage startup with proven founder-market fit and a team of high-caliber talent from ETH, TUM, and BCG X.
- High-stakes technical challenges building reliable distributed systems for a massive industry still operating on manual processes and spreadsheets.
- Direct influence over the tech stack, moving from pragmatic early tooling to robust, scalable infrastructure that supports real-world production loads.
