Role overview
Versey helps you develop and articulate your ideas, and by design avoids watering down your style.
Craft clear, persuasive writing with AI. Most writing tools optimise for speed. Versey is built for people who care about clarity, judgment, and the quality of the thinking on the page.
Our users are professionals who publish regularly —on Substack, in essays, on blogs, or through long-form audio and video.
It learns from you — your past writing, notes, conversations, and working drafts — to build an understanding of how you think and make decisions. The goal is not to imitate your voice, but to support it.
What you will do
- Design and implement AI-native editor interactions including inline suggestions, version tracking, and structured agentic "Skills."
- Build and refine a high-performance local-first editor with live collaboration features between human users and autonomous AI agents.
- Orchestrate complex agentic workflows using LangGraph and modern reasoning models to help writers explore ideas and research more effectively.
Who this is a fit for
- Possesses strong JavaScript fundamentals and a deep obsession with interaction quality found in tools like Linear, Notion, and Superhuman.
- Brings experience with text editing frameworks such as ProseMirror or Tiptap, alongside a solid understanding of local-first architecture and syncing.
- Demonstrates strong product instincts and the ability to ship features end-to-end, from initial idea to production-ready agentic systems.
Why this role is remarkable
- Join a top 1% Focal European startup recognized as one of the 100 hottest startups by the Europa awards, backed by investors like 8VC (Asana) and Venrex (Revolut).
- Build "Cursor for writing," creating an AI-native tool that respects the writer's process rather than flattening their voice through generic automation.
- Work in a small, elite team of experienced generalists in a high-ownership environment where craft, taste, and interaction quality are the primary North Stars.
