Role overview

Join Writer Inc. to define the future of AI security by building sophisticated detection systems for enterprise-grade LLMs. You will defend high-value GPU clusters and training pipelines against novel threats like prompt injection and data poisoning. This role is a unique opportunity to secure the infrastructure powering the next generation of work.

Writer Inc. (branded as WRITER) is a generative artificial intelligence company based in San Francisco, California that provides a full‑stack, enterprise-grade AI platform designed to help large organizations build and deploy AI applications and agents for mission‑critical work.[1][5] Its platform focuses on “enterprise AI for agentic work,” enabling teams to automate and scale on‑brand, compliant tasks such as content creation, knowledge work, and operations while integrating with existing business systems and enforcing governance, security, and data privacy requirements.[5] Writer offers a fully integrated stack—including foundation models, orchestration, guardrails, workflows, and developer tools—so enterprises can create customized AI agents and applications tailored to their data, style, and policies without sending sensitive data to public models.[1][5] The company serves Fortune 500 and other large enterprises across industries, positioning itself as a secure, centrally managed AI layer that delivers measurable ROI from generative AI in production.[2][3][5]

What you will do

  • Design and implement detection-as-code frameworks to identify AI-specific threats across distributed GPU clusters and model deployments.
  • Build automated response playbooks and orchestration workflows that remediate compromised inference endpoints and infrastructure without human intervention.
  • Lead high-stakes incident response and proactive threat hunting across training pipelines to protect sensitive datasets and model weights.

Who this is a fit for

  • Has 3-5+ years of experience in detection engineering or incident response within cloud-native or high-performance computing environments.
  • Is proficient in Python and query languages like KQL or SPL to build custom security tools and automation.
  • Possesses a software engineering background and a builder mindset, having successfully automated security functions in high-ambiguity startup environments.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Defend a cutting-edge $1.9B AI platform used by industry titans including Mars, Marriott, Uber, and Vanguard.
  • Tackle intellectually fascinating, non-traditional security challenges like model extraction and adversarial examples in distributed training environments.
  • Work at a high-growth startup where you will define the “detection-as-code” standards for the generative AI era.
