Role overview

Join a small, high-impact engineering team at Opfyx Ltd to architect mission-critical systems that replace decades-old aviation infrastructure. You will build and scale distributed architectures across the full stack, working directly on products used in live airport environments to optimize global air travel for billions of passengers.

Opfyx Ltd is a company founded in 2023 in London and New York, focused on modernising, simplifying, and transforming operations across the aviation industry. It develops an AI-enabled digital communications platform and software suite (Opfyx AIR) that analyzes historical operational data to improve efficiency for airports, airlines, and ground handlers. Its nature of business includes business and domestic software development and management consultancy activities other than financial management.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and operate highly available, mission-critical software for live aviation environments using Rust and Flutter.
  • Collaborate with product stakeholders to develop distributed and federated architectures that support complex, real-world operational workflows.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and user experience across the Opfyx AIR platform while helping to shape engineering practices as the team scales.

Who this is a fit for

  • A self-starter with strong technical instincts across the full stack and the ability to own projects end-to-end in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience or a strong willingness to master a high-performance stack including Rust, Flutter/Dart, gRPC, Arrow, and Postgres.
  • A user-first mindset with the technical caliber to build scalable systems for an industry that moves billions of people annually.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Shape the future of global aviation by replacing fragmented legacy systems with a modern, AI-enabled platform used by major international players.
  • Join a well-capitalized, venture-backed startup in its early stages where you will work directly with a CTO who is an Apache Arrow and DataFusion contributor.
  • Enjoy high ownership and visibility in a small team of three engineers, ensuring your architectural decisions have an immediate, massive impact on real-world operations.
