Ooak Data is an applied AI research lab that builds data infrastructure, domain-specific datasets, and reinforcement learning (RL) training and evaluation environments for AI agents using real, anonymized company operational data. The company turns real-world business workflows and data into RL environments where AI agents can learn to operate in messy, realistic settings, helping frontier AI labs and companies train and evaluate agent models beyond synthetic benchmarks. Ooak Data acquires operational data from partner companies, anonymizes it, and transforms it into high-quality, domain-specific datasets and evaluation environments that can be used to develop and test production-ready AI agents.
What you will do
- Design, build, and scale robust back-end services and APIs to power complex data pipelines and RL environments.
- Develop clean, reactive front-end interfaces for critical data curation, annotation, and monitoring tools using modern web frameworks.
- Define core technical standards and architecture, making high-stakes decisions on tech stack, scalability, and DevOps practices.
Who this is a fit for
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in TypeScript and Python, and ideally some Rust.
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end projects using Node.js, modern front-end frameworks like React or SvelteKit, and PostgreSQL.
