Head of Deployments at Laminar
- Location
- Boston, United States
- Compensation
- $120k-$240k + Equity
Laminar is teaching machines to understand matter, and they need a world-class leader to scale that vision across the global factory floor. As the Head of Deployments, you’ll solve the hardest version of physical AI implementation, moving from pilot sites to enterprise-wide rollouts for the world’s largest food and beverage manufacturers.
Backed by tier-one investors and recognized as a WEF Technology Pioneer, Laminar offers a rare opportunity to build a global deployment engine from the ground up.
If you have the shop-floor credibility to lead complex industrial integrations and the strategic vision to industrialize the deployment process itself, this is your chance to define the future of autonomous manufacturing.
Role overview
As Head of Deployments, you will build and scale the organization that transitions Laminar’s physical AI technology from signed commitment to successful factory-floor operation. You will own the global deployment portfolio, establish repeatable operating playbooks, and lead a polymathic team of engineers to ensure predictable, high-quality execution for the world’s largest food and beverage manufacturers.
About Laminar
Machines learned to understand language. We’re teaching them to understand matter.
Forty percent of global manufacturing happens through physical and chemical processes inside pipes, tanks, and reactors. Despite decades of industrial automation, much of what happens inside them remains remarkably invisible. Manufacturing is the most ubiquitous and foundational sector in global economy, yet the way factories are fundamentally run have used the same control philosophies, manual operations, and legacy software for the past 60 years.
Laminar deploys state-of-the-art patented sensors and edge hardware directly into live production environments, generating data that didn’t previously exist to build foundation models deployed in factory floors that understand chemistry, composition, quality, and material state in real time. We use that understanding to run autonomy and rethink how things are made.
The last generation of industrial automation taught machines to execute instructions reliably. The next will teach them to understand the processes they control and run autonomously, adaptively, and agentically: higher quality, safety, more efficiently, sustainably, and productively.
That future is already taking shape. Today, Laminar works with 7 of the world’s 10 largest food and beverage manufacturers and operates across hundreds of factories globally across six continents. Our systems have materially reduced waste, cut manufacturing downtime, saved water, chemicals, energy, and helped prevent safety and quality failures. Our technology has gained international recognition, from being selected as a 2026 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, Gold 2026 Edison Award, Unilever Startup of the Year, to Innovator Awards by both Coca-Cola and AB InBev, and more.
We are backed by tier-one investors in physical AI to make intelligent, self-improving production the new standard for industry.
Join us to build what makes matter intelligible, and the intelligible controllable.
What you will do
- Recruit and lead a high-performing team of Field Deployment Engineers and Program Managers, defining the career paths and performance expectations for a growing global organization.
- Design and operationalize the Laminar Deployment System, including stage gates, readiness checklists, and KPI scorecards to improve cycle times and schedule adherence.
- Manage strategic executive relationships and technical escalations at the plant level to resolve systemic blockers and ensure deployments meet agreed customer success criteria.
Who this is a fit for
- Significant leadership experience building and scaling a deployment, professional services, or field engineering organization within complex enterprise manufacturing environments.
- Deep technical credibility on the shop floor, with experience in process manufacturing (CPG, food/beverage, or chemicals) and a practical understanding of IT/OT, installation, and validation.
- Proven track record of managing multi-site global rollouts and translating pipeline demand into robust capacity, resource, and partner-enabled delivery models.
Why this role is remarkable
- Direct ownership of the primary growth bottleneck for a company recognized as a 2026 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer and Gold Edison Award winner.
- Opportunity to build a global deployment engine from the ground up, moving beyond project management to create a repeatable system that scales from individual lines to enterprise rollouts.
- Exceptional culture of autonomy where you will lead a polymathic team of hardware and software engineers, chemists, and AI researchers to solve the hardest problems in physical AI.
