Role overview
Gradient Labs builds autonomous AI agents for customer operations in regulated financial services- handling the complex, compliance-heavy back-office processes that sit behind every insurance claim, loan application, and fraud investigation, with the accuracy and auditability that regulated industries require. Backed by $108M in a Series A in July 2025, the company is one of the best-funded startups in enterprise AI agents and is building for a customer base where the consequences of AI errors are regulatory, not just operational. Gradient Labs careers attract engineers and researchers who want to build reliable, production-grade AI agents for enterprise customers; Gradient Labs job openings are for people with engineering rigour, a pragmatic approach to AI limitations, and the ambition to work on compliance-critical automation in an environment where getting it right genuinely matters.
What you will do
- Open and close complex enterprise deals with US-based banks and fintechs, navigating multi-stakeholder procurement, legal, and compliance cycles.
- Design and execute the US go-to-market strategy, including defining target accounts, messaging, pricing models, and repeatable sales processes.
- Partner directly with the founding team to provide market feedback that shapes the product roadmap for the North American financial sector.
Who this is a fit for
- Proven track record as a quota-carrying enterprise closer, personally winning large, multi-year deals within complex enterprise organizations.
- Significant experience selling into highly regulated sectors like financial services, banking, or healthcare, with a deep understanding of security and compliance reviews.
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment (Seed to Series D), ideally as a founding AE or an early GTM team member.
Why this role is remarkable
- Founding US hire status, offering total ownership over the American market strategy and the opportunity to build the regional sales playbook from zero.
- Remarkable product-market fit with $1M ARR achieved in just four months and a founding team of Monzo alumni who scaled world-class fintech systems.
- Highly differentiated product (Otto) specifically engineered for high-stakes, regulated industries where generic AI tools fail due to compliance and security needs.
