Role overview

Join Rho as our first hire in Los Angeles to spearhead our expansion. You’ll be the face of the brand in the LA startup ecosystem, attending networking events and building deep relationships with founders and VCs. This role blends community-building with high-velocity sales to displace legacy banks and industry incumbents.

Rho is a financial technology company based in New York City that provides a business banking and financial software platform for founders, finance teams, startups, mid-sized businesses, and accounting firms. Its platform helps companies manage cash, control spend, and automate finance operations with products such as corporate credit cards, accounts payable automation, accounting automation tools, treasury and banking features, and FDIC-insured deposit accounts offered through partner banks.

What you will do

  • Attend multiple in-person networking events weekly to build trust and establish Rho as the preferred banking partner for the Los Angeles startup community.
  • Identify and target high-growth startups to win new business in competitive sales cycles against industry incumbents and newer fintech players.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, from initial relationship building and product demos to pipeline forecasting and closing net-new acquisitions.

Who this is a fit for

  • Has 3+ years of experience in a closing sales role with at least one year focused on net-new acquisitions and quota carrying.
  • Possesses deep existing connections within the Los Angeles startup or VC ecosystem, allowing them to gain immediate credibility with founders and accelerators.
  • Thrives in a “builder” environment, enjoying a blend of face-to-face networking, competitive sales, and informing the company’s product roadmap through client feedback.

Why this role is remarkable

  • You will be the founding member of the LA team, setting the foundation for Rho’s presence and strategy in a critical startup hub.
  • The role moves beyond traditional cold outreach, focusing on face-to-face community building and high-impact founder events where relationships are built authentically.
  • Rho is a fast-growing category leader that has already successfully scaled its community-first model across major ecosystems like New York and San Francisco.
