Software Engineer at Electric TwinVC-backed AI Decision Infrastructure

Electric Twin is hiring a Software Engineer in London to build the future of decision infrastructure. Founded by the UK government's former lead data advisors and backed by £7M in funding, we use AI-powered synthetic populations to help teams test ideas before they commit. If you are a thinking engineer who loves to ship, own parts of a product end-to-end, and work on systems where your architectural decisions actually matter, this is a rare chance to join an elite, high-execution team at the post-seed stage.

Overview

Why this role stands out

Join a small, high-velocity team building AI-powered synthetic populations to transform how governments and enterprises make decisions. You will own features end-to-end, moving between product-focused flows and robust system architecture. This is a rare opportunity to shape a malleable platform alongside founders who led data strategy for the UK Prime Minister.

Electric Twin - £7M raised post-seed startup

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Build and ship end-to-end features using React, Next.js, and Python/FastAPI that real users rely on for high-stakes decision-making.
  • Architect and orchestrate AI components to ensure synthetic population outputs are reliable, explainable, and trustworthy for enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate in a high-bandwidth environment, iterating rapidly on APIs and system boundaries while maintaining a balance between speed and long-term technical health.

Candidate profile

Who this is a fit for

  • Proven experience building and shipping production-grade applications, with a strong bias for execution and the ability to turn vague problems into working code.
  • Proficiency across the stack—ideally with React, Python, or SQL—and a deep interest in the engineering challenges of integrating AI into real-world workflows.
  • A mindset that thrives in ambiguity, values technical momentum over perfect specifications, and enjoys working 4 days a week from a London-based office.

What makes it remarkable

Why this role is remarkable

  • Work directly with founders Ben Warner (former Chief Advisor to the PM) and Alex Cooper (former Director of Mass Testing) on mission-critical decision infrastructure.
  • Impact a platform that has already raised £7M and is being used by major institutions to model complex human behavior through science-based synthetic populations.
  • Enjoy high autonomy and ownership in a small team where technical judgment is prioritized over ceremony and your architectural decisions will define the product for years.
