What you will do
- Lead the Acquisition product squad hands-on by shipping high-quality TypeScript code and owning the operational reliability of your team’s services.
- Partner closely with the Product Manager to translate business goals into technical scope, managing pragmatic trade-offs to maintain a fast delivery cadence.
- Shape the team’s engineering culture by improving developer experience, observability, and release practices while coaching engineers to take full ownership of their work.
Who this is a fit for
- Possesses deep technical expertise in TypeScript and building scalable, event-driven microservices within a serverless AWS ecosystem (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge).
- Demonstrates a proven track record of technical leadership, successfully navigating the balance between rapid product delivery and long-term architectural health.
- Thrives in a high-autonomy environment, with strong opinions on testing, types, and modern CI/CD practices that enable safe and frequent production deployments.
Why this role is remarkable

- Experience the best of both worlds: the agility and speed of a startup combined with the stability and backing of Admiral, the UK’s leading motor insurer.
- Work with a sophisticated, modern tech stack featuring serverless AWS architecture, event-driven microservices, and a CI/CD pipeline that deploys to production in under 30 minutes.
