Role overview
You will own the entire quality function for Somo AI, bridging hardware, firmware, and software. This hands-on leadership role involves designing automated test systems, building hardware-in-the-loop environments, and developing end-of-line test rigs. You’ll partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure our hospitality technology delivers a seamless, reliable guest experience at scale.

What you will do
- Design and build automated test equipment, physical fixtures, and end-of-line test rigs for connected hardware products.
- Develop comprehensive validation plans and reliability tests, including regression, endurance, fault-injection, and power-cycle protocols across hardware and software.
- Lead root-cause analysis for production and field failures, translating findings into permanent regression coverage to improve manufacturing yield and traceability.
Who this is a fit for
- Extensive experience testing embedded systems, IoT devices, or connected hardware, including hands-on design of automated test equipment and fixtures.
- Deep proficiency in Python, TypeScript, C, or C++ and familiarity with microcontrollers and interfaces like UART, CAN, SPI, and I2C.
- Proven technical leadership background with the ability to navigate hardware/software boundaries using lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
