Role overview

As the Founding Head of Operations, you will build the “machine” that enables MOOV to scale into massive school districts. You will own the entire implementation lifecycle—from staging hardware to syncing student rosters—while streamlining internal logistics. This is a high-agency role designed to evolve into a C-suite position as the company grows.

MOOV is a real-time attendance, safety, and hall pass system that integrates directly with a school’s SIS. With a tap of a student ID card, attendance is taken in the classroom, security is strengthened at entry points, cafeterias, bathrooms, and more. That same tap can generate a zero-touch hall pass: no teacher approval, no student requests, just tap and go.

Students walk into their buildings, hallways, and classrooms completely unaccounted for. As recent-ish public schoolers, we know the drill: put a backpack on, look the part, blend into the crowd. Teachers took attendance manually. They gave us blocks of wood and tissue boxes for hall passes. Finding one student meant logging into an attendance portal, calling into a classroom, and hoping. We also know what it’s like to hear about a school shooting and start texting friends, wondering if you’ll get a reply.

MOOV is our hope to make schools safer and seamless. It’s an entirely new category in education technology: a student movement OS. You cannot take one step into a MOOV school without noticing our impact. Anyone entering the building, a classroom, a bathroom, or a common area moves with MOOV. We are fundamentally changing the culture of schools — from one where tasks are manual, safety is an afterthought, and attendance is declining, to one where attendance is automated, accountability is increased 10,000x (yes, that’s a real number), and getting to class early earns students points.

A principal at one of the biggest high schools in America was asked what would happen if MOOV were removed. He said his school could not function. Security Directors have said verbatim that MOOV “is a need, not a want.”

We grew 252% last year, and we’re breaking into some of the country’s biggest districts — all without a sales team. Our mission is a relentless pursuit to reshape the schools that shaped us: saving time and saving lives.

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end implementation process for new school districts, managing everything from hardware procurement and shipping manifests to complex student information system (SIS) roster synchronization.
  • Develop and codify operational playbooks, turning unstructured “tribal knowledge” into repeatable systems that allow for rapid, error-free scaling during high-volume summer onboarding periods.
  • Drive the company’s daily internal rhythm by managing inventory, vendor stacks, and a centralized dashboard to ensure every school launch stays on schedule and meets strict safety standards.

Who this is a fit for

  • Has 1–3 years of experience in high-stakes operations, implementation, or field logistics where you were personally responsible for mission-critical outcomes and physical hardware delivery.
  • Demonstrates exceptional “high agency” and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex IT integration challenges and physical logistics under tight school-opening deadlines.
  • Possesses professional communication skills suitable for collaborating with school superintendents and technical directors while maintaining a credible, authoritative presence in active school buildings.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Direct impact on student safety: You are building the operational foundation for a system designed to prevent school tragedies and modernize education infrastructure through a single, seamless tap.
  • Explosive organic growth: MOOV grew 252% last year purely through word-of-mouth and is currently breaking into some of the nation’s largest high schools that now claim they cannot function without it.
  • Path to C-suite: This is a high-stakes, founding-level seat where you have the autonomy to build processes from scratch with a clear, performance-based trajectory toward executive leadership.
