Lead AI Engineer at Enerzyz

As Lead AI Engineer, you will architect the AI operating system that controls real-world assets. You’ll bridge the gap between reasoning agents and control theory, deploying models to edge hardware like NVIDIA Jetson. This founding-level role offers ownership over the research agenda, including publishing in top-tier venues like Nature and IEEE.

• Architect and build the fusion of reasoning models, RL policies, and classical control theory (MPC) to manage complex plant topologies and energy tariffs safely.
• Deploy models to edge hardware using NVIDIA Jetson and bridge the sim-to-real gap using digital twins and physics-informed machine learning for safe exploration.
• Set the technical roadmap and research agenda while hiring and mentoring a high-performing team of ML, controls, and MLOps engineers to scale the platform.

• 7+ years of experience building ML systems with at least 2 years in a leadership or roadmap-owning capacity, plus proficiency in Python and PyTorch/JAX.
• Proven track record of putting learned policies onto live physical equipment (robotics, AVs, or power grids) with a deep grounding in MPC and stability constraints.
• Hands-on expertise with foundation models including fine-tuning, tool use, and agentic planning, as well as familiarity with industrial protocols like BACnet or Modbus.

• Founding-level ownership: As the most senior technical hire, you will design the entire AI architecture of Enerzyz OS, deciding how reasoning agents and learned policies control multi-megawatt physical assets.
• Real-world impact: Your models won’t just sit in notebooks; they will move real valves and stage chillers in live hotels and data centers, optimizing 30% of global energy usage.
• Research leadership: Lead the development of a domain-specific HVAC foundation model with a dedicated mandate to publish original research in prestigious venues like IEEE and Nature-family journals.
