Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Macroscope

You will architect and scale the foundation of Macroscope’s core services and inference platforms. Splitting your time between distributed systems (70%) and ML infrastructure (30%), you’ll build resilient Go-based services on GCP to support high-scale LLM workloads. This is a high-agency role working directly with founders in a flat, elite engineering environment.

• Design and implement scalable distributed systems and APIs using Go, Temporal, and GCP to power the core Macroscope product and agent fleet.
• Architect and manage high-performance ML infrastructure for LLM inference serving, fine-tuning, and training workloads in collaboration with the research team.
• Establish foundational engineering practices across CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production operations while making critical architectural decisions alongside the founders.

• Deep expertise in architecting and operating distributed backend systems at scale, with a strong preference for hands-on experience in Go and GCP.
• Proven track record building foundational cloud infrastructure from scratch, including proficiency with Terraform, networking, IAM, and durable execution systems like Temporal.
• Experience or strong interest in modern LLM workloads, including inference serving and fine-tuning, with the high-agency mindset required for an early-stage startup.
