As the Founding AI Engineer at Goodspeed Studio, you will lead the technical architecture and delivery of sophisticated AI agents and internal tooling. Working alongside the founder, you will own the entire development lifecycle—from system design and data ingestion to UI—while building the engineering team that will scale the company’s impact.
Founding AI Engineer at Goodspeed Studio
Join Goodspeed Studio as a Founding AI Engineer and take a pivotal role in shaping the future of agentic AI. Based in London, you will work directly with the founder to architect systems from the ground up, moving from retrieval pipelines to production-grade UIs that serve millions of users. This is more than a coding role; you will set the technical direction, select the stack, and help hire the engineering team that will define the studio's success. If you are an opinionated, full-stack builder who prioritizes applied shipping over theoretical research, this is your chance to lead high-impact AI projects end-to-end.

What you will do
- Architect and build production AI agents, managing the end-to-end lifecycle from document ingestion and RAG retrieval to the user interface.
- Own the entire system design, including permissions, caching, and rate limiting, to ensure durable workflows for high-traffic agentic systems.
- Proactively recommend and implement the technical stack, providing sound technical reasoning to drive the studio’s engineering direction and excellence.
Who this is a fit for
- Proven technical leadership experience with the ability to own backend architecture, database design, and API development for complex systems.
- Deep expertise in applied AI, with a solid understanding of agentic workflows, RAG retrieval techniques, and the trade-offs involved in scaling LLMs.
- An “applied over theoretical” mindset with a strong bias for shipping code and the ability to build across the full stack.
Why this role is remarkable
- Lead the technical direction of a high-growth AI studio, making critical architecture and tooling decisions from day one.
- Experience true founding impact by helping shape the engineering culture, hiring the core team, and working directly with the founder.
- Ship agents at massive scale, designing systems that handle millions of users and complex retrieval pipelines for real-world applications.
