Earlier figures are Revelio Labs estimates. The latest is Distyl’s own, from a job posting that said it was building the systems to grow to 500+ people. Its HQ is in San Francisco. It opened its first New York office in December 2025, doubled it in September 2026, and is now opening one in London.
Two Palantir alumni founded and run it, with new heads of engineering and people since July 2026
Arjun spent eight years at Palantir, where cofounder and COO Derek Ho also worked. Head of engineering Shyam Gopalakrishnan joined from Capital One in July 2026 and runs forward deployed, platform and research engineering.
Three office days a week, travel to customers and AI encouraged in most engineering interview stages
The pace. Ideas become prototypes, then production systems, fast. Feedback is direct, or as Distyl puts it, “We don’t do ego-stroking.”
Teams. Each customer project is led by an AI strategist paired with a technical lead, with a team of engineers and researchers.
Where. Engineering and most other roles are in the office three days a week, Tuesday to Thursday, in San Francisco or New York. AI engineers travel 10% to 30% of the time.
Interviews. In engineering interviews, AI is encouraged in most stages, apart from a codebase review. The onsite is mostly a working session on an ambiguous problem.
Pay and benefits. Most US roles list base pay, plus equity. Medical, dental and vision are fully covered for employees and dependents, and it generally sponsors visas.
Its AI systems have reached more than 150 million people
T-MobileDistyl built the AI assistant in the T-Life app with T-Mobile and OpenAI, for shopping and account help by voice and chat.A Fortune 20 health insurer uses it to speed up prior authorization. It handles 200,000+ cases a month at 90%+ accuracy and was deployed in one quarter.
A Fortune 50 hardware maker uses it to find the root cause of 1,500+ supply chain disruptions a day.
T-Mobile’s assistant won two golds and two silvers at the 2026 w3 Awards.
Most of its case studies name customers only by industry and Fortune rank. It also works with OpenAI, Google Cloud and NVIDIA.
