Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Omen AI

Omen AI is revolutionizing industrial maintenance by miniaturizing lab-grade spectroscopy into field-deployable sensors. As our Senior Manufacturing Engineer in San Francisco, you’ll own the transition from prototype to mass production for our Scout and Sentry platforms. We’re a tightly knit team of builders tackling "type-two fun" engineering challenges to detect bearing failures and coolant contamination weeks before catastrophic failure occurs. If you have deep NPI experience and want to build production architecture from the ground up to protect the world's most critical infrastructure, join us in San Francisco.

Role overview

As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead the transition of validated spectroscopy prototypes into high-volume production. Bridging engineering and global supply chains, you'll establish production architecture for the Scout and Sentry platforms. Your work ensures real-time detection of failure modes in critical cooling and lubricating systems globally.

Data Centers Industrials1-50 employees

Omen (omen.ai) is blood monitoring for machines. We shrink lab-grade spectroscopy into embedded sensors for real-time, PPM-level fluid analysis—predicting catastrophic machine failures months in advance. Backed by CRV, Vanderbilt, and C-suites from GM, Bridgestone, and top data centers, Omen protects customers generating $150B in revenue and managing 14GW ($200B+) of critical infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) by reviewing mechanical and electrical designs for cost-efficiency, yield, and rapid assembly speed.
  • Identify and manage a global supplier network, negotiating terms with machine shops, PCB assembly houses, and contract manufacturers.
  • Establish and oversee initial low-volume, in-house assembly lines to validate processes and SOPs before scaling to high-volume production.

Who this is a fit for

  • Extensive experience in NPI, successfully transitioning complex electro-mechanical hardware from early-stage prototypes to mass production environments.
  • Deep expertise in DFM/DFA methodologies and SolidWorks, with a proven track record of auditing supplier capabilities and enforcing quality.
  • Strong problem-solving instincts to resolve supply chain bottlenecks and proactively source alternative components without compromising performance standards.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Ownership of the end-to-end manufacturing operation from a blank canvas for sensors that protect the world's most expensive infrastructure.
  • Join a high-performance team of 20 builders operating on "type-two fun," where deeply challenging engineering problems lead to immense rewards.
  • Directly impact the scale of revolutionary technology that catches industrial failures weeks before they become catastrophic emergencies.
