Help build the AI operating system for electronics design at SnapMagic. With over 2 million engineers already trusting their platform, SnapMagic is now redefining PCB design using AI, backed by top investors including Y Combinator. This high-ownership role allows you to lead the development of CAD software and AI tools used to build everything from electric aircraft to medical devices.
If you are a full-stack engineer with hands-on hardware experience who wants to own a product from idea to production, this is your chance to work alongside the founders in San Francisco and shape the future of hardware engineering.
Role overview
Join a high-impact team building the future of hardware engineering. You’ll own the software behind our AI-assisted design products, translating complex electronics requirements into reliable CAD tools. Working directly with the founder and users, you will build and ship features that hardware engineers rely on to create everything from aircraft to medical devices.
About SnapMagic
Software · 25 employees
SnapMagic is where 3 million engineers go to design electronics faster. We built the first search engine for electronic components, and turned it into the design intelligence platform the industry never had.
Engineers at Anduril, Space X, Apple and nearly every major OEM around the world uses SnapMagic to find the components they need and get to production faster. They’re designing over hundreds of thousands of unique products each year: medical devices, satellites, drones, autonomous vehicles.
What you will do
- Lead the development of AI-assisted PCB design tools and CAD model software using Python, Django, and Postgres to ensure hardware-grade accuracy.
- Collaborate directly with the founder and hardware engineers to define product roadmaps and translate user needs into functional, production-ready features.
- Manage the full-stack lifecycle of high-throughput applications, ensuring high reliability for millions of engineers designing real-world circuit boards and systems.
Who this is a fit for
- Possesses hands-on hardware experience, having designed, built, or debugged circuit boards, paired with a deep understanding of electrical engineering workflows.
- Brings 3+ years of professional full-stack experience building high-throughput web applications, preferably with Python and Django, in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates a builder’s instinct with high ownership, thriving in ambiguity and focusing on product outcomes and user engagement over just writing code.
Why this role is remarkable
- Gain full ownership of SnapMagic’s electronic design software and AI products, moving them from ideation to production for a massive global user base.
- Work at a Y Combinator-backed company with proven product-market fit, strong revenue growth, and a platform trusted by over 2 million engineers.
- Join a small, founder-mentality team in San Francisco where your technical decisions directly shape the tools used to build the world’s next-generation hardware.
