Finance Manager at Apolloresearch

As the second finance hire at Apolloresearch.ai, you will own the end-to-end financial operations and accounting function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll split your time between hands-on transactional processing and building a best-in-class, AI-automated finance department from scratch to support rapid international scaling and critical safety research.

• Manage day-to-day financial operations including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, supplier payments, and customer invoicing for a multi-entity, multi-currency group.
• Execute a fast, high-quality monthly close within five working days, producing multi-dimensional management accounts and 13-week cash flow forecasts with scenario analysis.
• Architect and automate manual finance workflows using AI tools and agents to ensure the function scales efficiently ahead of business growth.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) with at least two years of post-qualification experience at a small UK company or high-growth startup.
• Proven track record of personally running end-to-end monthly closes and producing management accounts with a focus on balance-sheet-first accounting and transactional accuracy.
• Systems-oriented thinker with advanced spreadsheet skills and experience with cloud ledgers like Xero, Rillet, or Campfire in a high-growth environment.
