Role overview
Young Giants Education (trading via the domain younggiants.co.uk) is a learner‑centred, teacher‑led alternative provision provider delivering specialist education, tuition and mentoring for children and young people who need bespoke support outside mainstream schooling. The company operates as a managed education service rather than a tuition agency, meaning it retains responsibility for the quality and management of each learner’s education throughout their time with the service. It designs needs‑based, flexible programmes from early years through Key Stage 5, typically delivered as 1:1 tuition in learners’ homes, schools or community venues.
Young Giants focuses on supporting learners with a wide range of additional needs and SEND, including complex needs and PMLD, MLD, neurodiversity such as Autism and ADHD, SEMH, those missing education, pupils on 6th‑day exclusions, those at risk of permanent exclusion, and emotionally based school non attendance (EBSNA). Its programmes aim to re‑engage learners in education, support reintegration and inclusion in mainstream schools, and build self‑belief and personal ambition through tailored academic, functional skills and confidence‑building support. The organisation is approved and quality‑assured by local authorities and works closely with SEND departments, Virtual Schools, Inclusion Teams, Social Care, schools and PRUs across the UK.
What you will do
- Identify and engage key decision-makers within SEND commissioning teams, youth justice services, and Multi-Academy Trusts to win new business and framework placements.
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial outreach through to tender writing, DPS submissions, and final contract execution.
- Strategically grow initial case-based tuition wins into long-term, annual commissioning arrangements to provide recurring support for children out of school.
Who this is a fit for
- Proven track record in new business development within the public sector or institutional markets, specifically targeting education or closely adjacent social services.
- Strong expertise in public procurement processes, including high-quality tender writing and navigating Framework or Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) applications.
- A deeply empathetic and mission-aligned professional who values educational outcomes for complex learners as much as achieving commercial growth targets.
Why this role is remarkable
- Enjoy true autonomy in a mission-driven, founder-led company where you can build the business development function from the ground up according to your vision.
- Join a provider with a proven track record and high renewal rates; you are selling a high-quality service that already holds the trust of numerous local authorities.
- Directly impact the lives of vulnerable young people by ensuring they receive the bespoke educational support they need to get their lives back on track.
